- 1991
The World Wide Web opens to the public. Mike Sendall of CERN fame (supervisor of the more famous Tim Berners-Lee) calls it "Vague, but exciting."
- 1995
JavaScript invented. Industry split on its significance. Netscape saw promise, but developers considered it a "toy language" with structural problems.
- 1998
Insite founded by Adrienne Palmer in a closet at the World Trade Center in Dallas, TX.
- 2007
Apple iPhone released, beginning the popularization of mobile Internet use. Two months later, Mark Cuban calls the Internet "Dead and boring."
- 2015
Owen Hannay purchases majority stake in Insite, becomes CEO.
- 2021
COVID-19 pandemic strikes. Mitigation measures accelerate adoption of online ordering and fulfillment services, including video conferencing, grocery shopping, and curbside pickup for all kinds of retailers.
- 2024
Ned Bryant named president of Insite.
- 2026
Frontier LLMs OpenAI, Anthropic, Grok, and Google fight for dominance in the AI landscape, but regional and local models also make the news.
