The World Citizens Guide project started when a group called Business for Diplomatic Action, Inc. (BDA) realized that America's favorability in other countries was decreasing. In a search for answers, there was a huge listening exercise with people all over the world. Four root causes of anti-American sentiment surfaced: our U.S. public policy, the negative effects of globalization, our popular culture and our collective personality.

The original World Citizens Guide was a student guide created for the 170,000 American college students that study abroad each year to help educate them on how to make a change simply by being good world citizens. Due to the success of the original World Citizens Guide, a business guide was created as well, and plans for a Children's guide are in the works.

This World Citizen's Guide website site was designed to be a place for travelers to visit again and again. The site features:

• interesting facts about countries and cultures around the globe

All of us at InSite are passionate about this important initiative. We hope the guides and supporting website will encourage understanding of some basic yet important principles about traveling, working and living around the globe. Together with BDA and the World Citizens Guide team, our goal is to turn U.S. citizens in the best possible world citizens, and to turn the world into a better place for all the planet's peoples.
