NARS is the leading provider of employee training and certification to the North American rail industry, and is also the training provider of choice for the American Short Line Regional Railroads Association. The new site, along with complete re-branding also completed by InSite, was developed to reposition NARS and its training as the standard of excellence, setting the benchmark for rail education by having the highest quality and most comprehensive programs in an academic setting.

InSite worked with NARS to develop naming standards, a new brand identity, proper positioning in the marketplace, as well as brand strategies that differentiate and support that position. Target users were surveyed to ensure consistency between the NARS new positioning and the organizations reputation and image in the industry. Usability and clarity of content were the primary focus for the development of the new site architecture, due mainly to the fact that NARS is a resource for both continuing education for current railroad workers as well as hands-on training for those new to the industry.

The new site showcases:

  • NARS' new brand identity and goals, placing focus on NARS as the industry leader in railroad training.
  • A Flash Home Page header as well as additional calls to action driving those new to the industry as well as those seeking employee training opportunities to content specific to their training needs.
  • TRAX e-Learning, a new program offered by NARS for those who wish to train via the internet.
  • A wealth of industry resources through recent facts and statistics as well as other sites of interest.
  • User forms specific to New Career Training requests as well as Employee Training opportunities.
